Paddock Tour and Watch Free Practice MotoGP 2025 Mandalika, A Thousand Students Learn About the Sports Tourism Industry

Lombok - Behind the excitement of the first day of the 18th Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2025 MotoGP series at the Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), which began on Friday (3/10/2025), this international event once again provided education and inspiration for the younger generation, especially in the Lombok area.

At least 1,000 students participated in the Paddock Tour and Watch Free Practice programme. This initiative by the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) aims to provide hands-on learning experiences at an international-standard circuit.

MGPA Director Priandhi Satria reiterated that the highlight of the pre-event series for the 2025 Mandalika MotoGP is the Paddock Tour and Watch Free Practice programme at the Mandalika Circuit. This activity involved 1,000 students from five secondary schools in the Pujut area, namely SMAN 1 Pujut, SMAN 2 Pujut, SMKN 1 Pujut, SMKN 2 Pujut, and SMKN 3 Pujut.

This activity was carried out in groups. 200 students were divided into small groups of 25 people. They were then taken on a tour of eight specially prepared experience stations. In the initial session, students had the opportunity to climb onto the winner's podium and take photos, experiencing first-hand the atmosphere that racers usually experience when lifting the victory trophy.

Next, they visited the Asia Talent Cup tent, a breeding ground for young Asian riders who are on their way to MotoGP. After that, they were introduced to the press conference room, where world journalists usually interview top riders. ‘The students were selected because they are located in the area closest to Mandalika, as well as to emphasise the organisers' commitment to providing direct benefits to the surrounding community,’ explained Priandhi Satria in a press release received by InfoPublik.

‘This paddock tour programme is a tangible manifestation of the synergy between the world of education and the tourism-sports industry. The children of Lombok not only witnessed, but also learned first-hand about career opportunities in various sectors, ranging from automotive, engineering, event management, to international sports media,’ he added.

The paddock tour concluded with a visit to the main paddock area, where MotoGP teams prepare their motorcycles and strategies. The entire tour was guided by official guides from Dorna Sports and local committee representatives. In addition to touring the paddock, the students also had the special opportunity to watch the MotoGP free practice session live from the circuit grandstands.
