AMMAN Meets All Criteria of The Copper Mark

JAKARTA – PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (“AMNT”), a subsidiary of PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (“AMMAN”), has successfully met all international certification indicators of The Copper Mark for its Batu Hijau Mine operations in West Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province.

This achievement strengthens AMMAN’s position as a global copper producer that consistently improves the quality of its environmental, social and governance management in line with global benchmarks.

The Copper Mark is a guarantee framework designed specifically for the copper industry, with the aim of ensuring that actors throughout the copper value chain implement best practices in responsible production and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

AMNT President Director Rachmat Makkasau said that this achievement further emphasises AMMAN's principle of sustainability in all aspects of its operations. "In all operational activities at Batu Hijau, we strive to continuously implement responsible practices, ranging from environmental management, respect for human rights, legal compliance, to community empowerment. The awarding of The Copper Mark is proof of this commitment from a third-party and independent perspective," said Rachmat (20/11).

On the other hand, AMNT's Head of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Richard Fischer, said that this achievement is proof of the implementation of a strong sustainability system at AMMAN. "Two years ago, AMNT signed a Letter of Commitment (LoC) with The Copper Mark.

Since then, we have continued to make improvements in all 32 assessment aspects. We greatly appreciate the cooperation of The Copper Mark, which has provided comprehensive guidance so that our operations can apply high standards in ESG aspects," he said.

The Copper Mark is an organisation developed by the International Copper Association and led by a Board of Directors and Advisory Board involving environmental and human rights experts. AMMAN's fulfilment of all The Copper Mark certification criteria further emphasises Indonesia's contribution—through the mining sector—to advancing globally recognised sustainability and business ethics practices.
